White Crane Tai Chi Ecclesall is a non-profit practice group led by a registered Master, Barry. Our club embraces people of all ages and experience levels, creating a tranquil space for shared growth.

History of the Form

We practice the Simplified 24-Posture Tai Chi, developed in 1956 by the Chinese Sports Commission to make Tai Chi accessible and standardized while preserving its ancient wisdom.

This form distills the traditional Yang style Tai Chi into 24 essential movements, designed to be learned progressively while embodying the fundamental principles of balance, flowing movement, and mindful practice.

The 24-form serves as an excellent foundation for beginners while offering sufficient depth for continued practice and development. Its structured sequence provides a framework for understanding the core principles of Tai Chi, making it ideal for practitioners at all levels.
